My WRX page
The sound you hear is a WOT drive by with the
new exhaust. You first hear the approach, winding 1st gear from
about 1/8 mile away, then 2nd gear as the car goes by and finally
you hear shifting into 3rd gear and then backing off in 3rd
gear. Excuse the final crashing sound, it happened when I stopped the recorder.
I've a MY02 Blaze Yellow WRX.
I've had a number of sporty and high performance cars in the past, some of
which I've modified a good bit. So far I'm very happy with my Rex and I'm going
to go slow with the modifications. I've added a turbo timer and a F/A ratio
meter.
The turbo timer is a Bogaard that
I ordered from Australia. The F/A meter is also a kit I got from Australia. The
kit was built by a friend, he is a great installer. I incorporated the lights
into the dash next to the cup holder. The enclosure with the chip itself will
be hidden under the dash. I've added a switch to turn it off and on should the
flashing lights get on my nerves ;-)
The next big modification is the
turbo back exhaust system, custom made for my car. I've added pictures and WAVs
of the sound of stock vs. the new exhaust. The car sounds good! Not too loud
inside the car but definitely noticeable from outside. It was a deep growl and
seems to have markedly improved the spool-up of the turbo as well as extending
the power curve a bit. You can now clearly hear the turbo through the exhaust!
